　かなりの間違いがあると思います。あまり信用しないでください。

　VJよりの前の録音の重要なものはこのCDでほぼ聞けます。そのことが分かっていただけたらヨシとしましょう。

　LP時代に、私はジョン・リーをコンプリートでコレクションしようという大それた計画を立てたことがあります。すぐに挫折しましたが、そのおかげで人生を棒に振らずに済みました。

　そんな私のいうことなので、こう言っても許していただけると思うのですが、ジョン・リーの歌は全て同じです。テンポが早くても、遅くても、キーがGであれ、Aであれ、Bであれ、同じです。ビリー・ホリデーの名唱で有名な I Cover The Waterfront を歌っっても、同じです。

　２０世紀の大衆音楽が作り出した「奇跡」です。

　私はジョン・リー・フッカーになりたかった。
